There are a total of 63,400 seats in Gujarat state for Engineering courses at the Undergraduate level. Out of the 10,658 seats are available in Government Engineering College and the rest of the seat is for Private Engineering College. And in the year 1988-89 the undergraduate programs in Production Engineering and Computer Engineering was started. The institutes offer 6 undergraduate programs, 19 PG programs, 3 M.Sc. SVNIT has secured 47th rank in the 2021 NIRF ranking with a total score of 49.99. SVNIT is also known as NIT Surat. It is a public technical university established by the Parliament of India in 1961. It is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology.

DAIICT is a private self-financed University/ Institute located in Gandhinagar. The college is named after the Gujarati entrepreneur and the founder of Reliance group is Dhirubhai Ambani. DAIICT has some of the best teachers in their college. Some of the educators have done their courses at IIT Delhi, Cornell University USA, and some top universities around the world.

DAIICT has secured 107th rank in the 2021 NIRF ranking with a total score of 38.20. DAIICT offers an undergraduate program in Information and Communication Technology in India Science 2001. DAIICT is spread over 50 acres of land in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The campus is made in that form with the best environment. In the campus area, most of the bird species are being spotted. The candidates can reach the DAIICT College in about 30 mins from Central Railway Station located in Ahmedabad and Sardar Vallabhai Patel International Airport. IIIT Surat College was started in July 2017. Gujarat Government has allocated 50 acres of land for IIIT Surat colleges. The college is in now construction mode. But the IIIT Surat students studied on the campus of SVNIT. When the whole construction will complete then the course starts on the IIIT Surat campus. Till now Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering has started in SVNIT campus for IIIT Surat candidates. The admission to take courses in B.Tech is conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA). The hostel facilities for the candidates are also available on the SVNIT campus.

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) is located in Gandhinagar which is the capital of Gujarat. The campus is located 23km North of a well-developed city called Ahmedabad. The city is famous for its social life and cultural development. The PDPU college is located in Raysan village of Gandhinagar city. The university also has its mega-watt solar power plant.

PDPU has secured 68th rank in the 2021 NIRF ranking with a total score of 43.17. PDPU has been established by GERMI as a Private University through the state act on 4th April 2007. PDPU has been ranked No.1 in Private Universities in Gujarat by the Government of Gujarat.

The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda was formerly known as Baroda College. It was established in 1881 and became University in 1949. The University offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and doctoral programs. It is a public University in the city of Vadodara. The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda has secured 117th rank in the 2021 NIRF ranking with a total score of 37.30.

Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering was established in 1948 with a donation of 25 lacs. The total area of the institute is 77 acres. The College runs 14 Undergraduate, 14 postgraduate, and 4 part-time courses. The Institute was started with only 75 students in Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Undergraduate programs. In each department has fully equipped machines and instrumentation for Undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Institute of Infrastructure Technology Research and Management is a State University located in Maninagar, Ahmedabad. The College was established in the year 2013 by the Government of Gujarat. IITRAM offers a Bachelor of Technology in the field of Engineering: Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The Colleges also offer Master’s and Ph.D. courses in various fields like Humanities, social sciences, engineering, and sciences.

To take admission in these colleges 50% is through ACPC counseling (For Gujrat state candidates) and 50% taking admission through JEE Main examination.

Vishwakarma Government Engineering College was established in August 1994 with an initiative of impacting higher education in various fields of Engineering. Vishwakarma Government Engineering College is also known as Government Engineering College, Chandkheda. It is a state-funded college situated at Chandkheda in Ahmedabad City. The college is administrated by Gujarat Technological University (GTU). In these colleges, there are more than 150+ teaching and non-teaching staff with the highest qualification.
