This will be an effort by the state government towards shaping the future of primary education and overall development of primary schools, said a release issued here. The Chief Minister has directed that the districts with low literacy rate should be given priority and the primary schools of the state should be equipped with better facilities.
Shri Adityanath said that the government schools should achieve all the goals of “OPERATION KAYAKALP” which aims to give a facelift to the schools. The release said that he told the officials that not only the public representatives would join the “SCHOOL CHALO ABHIYAN”, but the legislators would also have to adopt one school each.
Shri Adityanath also directed those basic facilities like toilets, drinking water, furniture and smart classes should be provided to the students in all government schools. He said that a campaign should be launched to collaborate with alumni (of government schools) and private firms for the transformation of departmental government schools.
The “SCHOOL CHALO ABHIYAN” will be launched from Sarasvati district, which has the lowest literacy rate in the state, followed by Badaun and Rampur, Bahraich, Balrampur. Under the campaign, uniforms and shoes and socks will be provided to the students, the release said.
Shri Adityanath said that instructions have also been issued to the Basic Education Department to gear up for the campaign and ensure deployment of teachers in all government schools.
The Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh will also attend the program along with the CM. At the beginning of the campaign, local ministers, MPs and MLAs of the districts will be involved.
Director of Basic Education Saavedra V. Singh said that the headmasters of the schools who enrol maximum children in the campaign which will run till April 30 will also be honoured. He said that under the campaign, the teachers would go door-to-door to motivate the parents to get their children admitted in schools and would send them to school daily and inform about the facilities available.
