SAFAL or Structured Assessment for Analysis of Learning is a competency-based assessment strategy under which the performance of students in the initial classes will also be monitored and focused feedback will be suggested to improve their core competencies.
SAFAL will be used to assess the progress of foundational skills and basic learning competencies among students. It will provide developmental feedback to schools and teachers to improve teaching-learning without additional examination pressure on students. It is designed to help students, parents and teachers track learning progress throughout the school year, not just in Class 10 and Class 12 standard. Successful results are used by schools to promote students to the next grade. The giving will not be done in any way.
SAFAL Will Not Decide Successful Pass Or Fail:
The successful will not decide to pass or fail at any stage. Rather it will be used for the developmental purposes envisaged in NEP 2020. School level data will be shared for the development of learning outcomes. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) said the data will be used for continuous monitoring and improvement.
For Class 3 standard, items may include built-in response questions (questions that require the test-taker to prepare or create answers, which require students write their responses or say something to answer as orally) and it may include instructions on how to administer oral items through an Administration.
Under successful, students will have to take a new type of exam. Test items for classes 5 and 8 standard will ask the student to select a response, or choose an answer from a set of two or more options (multiple choice items or levels).
All students will take school exams in Standard 3, 5 and 8 that test the achievement of basic learning outcomes through evaluation of core concepts with the application of relevant higher-order skills and knowledge in real-life situations rather than by rote.
SAFAL Will Be Released On CBSE’s Site:
The core course areas of Language, Mathematics and Environmental Studies or Science will be conducted successful in CBSE schools for students of classes 3, 5 and Class 8 standard during the academic year 2024-25 on a practical basis. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited affiliated schools to participate in the successful 2024-25.
