The Supreme Court on Friday struck down a condition in the CBSE board’s assessment policy in June last year, which said that the marks obtained in the next examination would be considered final for the assessment of 12th class students. A bench of Justices Khanwilkara and Rabikumar said that the Central Board of Secondary Education would provide the candidate with an option to take the best of the two marks obtained in this regard so that the final result could be declared, last academic session.
