Even though the Supreme Court has quashed a petition filed by a group of students, seeking a direction for the board to conduct class 10 and 12 exams in hybrid mode, where students can take the exam either in offline or online mode.
CBSE and CISCE had announced that the officials will conduct the Term 1 board exam this year in offline mode. Though earlier CISCE allowed students to choose online or offline mode for Term 1 board exam, later the board took a U-turn on its decision and said that the exam will be conducted in offline mode only. Frustrated with the offline examinations in CORONA-1, a group of students moved the Supreme Court on November 11, seeking an option to take the upcoming board exam 2022 in online mode.
These students got support on social media platforms:
All India JEE-NEET Students Association – through its social platform (T-handle) urged CBSE and CISCE students and their parents to join the protest for making the first term hybrid. Council For the Indian School Certificate Examinations, (CISCE), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students make demands but respected authorities are not listening to their voices. In such a situation, students and parents are compelled to perform a symbolic protest at Jantar Mantar.
Students don’t want hybrid mode anymore because Supreme Court has declared that hybrid mode is not possible at all, we know that Supreme Court’s decision cannot be changed, so we want to cancel the first-time exams.
In fact, the Supreme Court never said that HYBRID can’t happen, they just said that there is no time to prepare for it, we have too much time but Central Board Of Secondary Education can manipulate so we stand for either of the two.
Some also highlighted the safety concerns of the students appearing for the exam. One user wrote, said that he wants to request parents and students in Delhi, please support this movement, it is a matter of safety of your child. He would like to request parents and students in Delhi, please support this movement, it is a matter of your child’s safety.
The students said that after taking classes in online mode, conducting exams in offline mode would be ridiculous. He also urged the central government to intervene in the matter.
