The central government on February 2 issued revised guidelines for the reopening of schools and asked the states and union territories (UTs) to decide at their own level whether to allow schools to allow students in classes. Consent from parents is required. As per the new guidelines, it will be up to the states and union territories whether parents are required to give such permission or not. However, the new guidelines also ask parents to give their consent if the state or union territory asks for it.
Although students will have the option of online education. Schools in Rajasthan will reopen till class 5 in urban areas of the state from February 16.
Students will be allowed to come to the campus for studies only after the written consent of their parents. Schools reopened from February 1 to class 12.
Schools for classes 8 to 12 resumed for offline classes on February 3. The West Bengal government has allowed the reopening of primary and upper primary schools from February 16. Also, the West Bengal government has issued a separate notification asking all district magistrates and officials of primary and secondary schools to ensure that classes from nursery to class 7 begin tomorrow, February 16.
Nursery and play schools will reopen in Tamil Nadu from tomorrow. While the children of nursery classes would be going to school again after a gap of almost 2 years, now exhibitions have also been allowed and with such fresh relaxations, almost all other CORONA-19 related restrictions have been removed.
In a press release, Puducherry Government Joint Director Education V G Sivagami said that the revision exams will be conducted as per the scheduled day.
All government and private schools in Puducherry and Karaikal regions will observe a holiday on February 16 on account of the Maasi Magam festival, stated on Monday (14 feb).
The festival takes place on the full moon day in the Tamil month of Masi (February–March). Masi Magam is an important festive in the Union Territory and neighboring Tamil Nadu will be set up for “THEERTHAVARI” (ceremonial bathing) at Vaithikuppam village of coastal.
