Delhi Government had Announced the Reopening of Schools by:
Following a marked improvement in the COVID-19 situation in the national capital, the Delhi government had announced the reopening of schools, colleges and coaching institutes for class 9 to Class 12 from September 1. However, this is the first time after March 2020 that schools in Delhi are reopening for classes up to class VIII.
Schools Reopen in Kerala:
In Kerala, students from classes 1 to 7, 10 and 12 flocked to schools that were cleaned and decorated to welcome children from across the state. Offline classes for students in classes 8, 9 and 11 will start from November 15.
The children looked excited as some were going to school after a long gap, while the children of classes 1 and 2 went to school for the first time in their lives. The school authorities welcomed the children with gift packets which included books, pens, sanitizers, masks and balloons.
Even teachers were excited as they could take a break from online classes and physically talk to children and get feedback. “I am very glad that the schools have now reopened and we can meet the children. We can teach them and spend time with them. However, we need to be extra careful as the pandemic is still here” says Deepa, a school teacher in Ernakulam.

Parents were also excited that children would now be able to spend more time in schools instead of being confined to the walls of their homes. Parents are worried about children spending time with other students due to CORONA-19, but the state government has assured that all precautions will be taken in schools. The education department had said that the school authorities have been directed to prepare mid-day meals for the children and distribute them following the CORONA-19 protocol besides ensuring the service of a doctor.
