Schools for classes 1 to 7 in Maharashtra’s Nashik city, which were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, will reopen from December 13, an official said on Thursday. The Nashik Municipal Corporation -NMC had earlier on December 1 decided not to start schools for class 1 to Class 7 in its jurisdiction in view of the possible threat of the omicron version of the coronavirus.

Parents in Delhi took to Twits to demand the reopening of schools as educational institutions once again pulled up by the Supreme Court for allowing physical classes amid deteriorating pollution levels in the state.

A parent said, that the highlight the fact that schools reopened after 21 months and were closed again due to pollution. It doesn’t make sense especially for private schools which have air purifiers and the kids are wearing N-95 masks to school. Parents created a campaign with hastag to backtoschool where concerns were raised as the decision to close schools would disrupt students’ studies.

Delhi School Reopening

The biggest emergency we are facing is a generation that has not gone to school for 2 years and now you are closing it again due to pollution. Nursery admissions in Delhi to start from December 15.

1) Nursery Admission 2024-25 in Delhi will start from 15th December 2021.
2) Admission to schools in Delhi for the academic session 2024-25 will start for entry level classes – Nursery, KG and Class 1 in private schools.
3) Directorate of Education (DOE) Delhi will open the application window for admission to entry level classes on December 15 and will continue till January 7, 2022.

4) The first list will be released on February 4 and the admission process will end on March 31, 2022.
5) For admission to Pre-School (Nursery), Pre-Primary (KG) and Class I, the minimum age for admission should be three years, four years and five years respectively as on March 31, 2022.

6) The directions issued by the Delhi Government are for admission to the Economically Weaker Sections, Deprived Groups and Children with Special Needs category seats apart from the open category.
7) The education department said that all private unaided schools will upload the details of children who apply for admission under open seats and the marks allotted to each of them by the schools under their point system.
