More states have recently announced that they will reopen schools for offline classes, after closing them during the second wave of CORONA-19.
Tamil Nadu issues Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for reopening of schools in September. The Delhi government has decided to reopen educational institutions – schools, colleges and coaching institutes – and Madhya Pradesh has decided to call classes 6 to 8 students for offline classes, after private schools said they would Will oppose this demand in September.

Delhi Govt. On Reopening Of Schools

Delhi’s schools, colleges and coaching institutes will open in a phased manner in September. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday said that in the first phase, coaching classes and colleges for classes 9 to 12 will reopen from September 1.

Mr. Sisodia said that social distancing should be strictly followed and no student would be forced to come to the schools. From September 8, students of classes 6 to 8 will be allowed to attend physical classes. Parental consent will be mandatory for students to attend classes and if they do not give permission, the students will not be considered forced or absent, the minister said.

Uttar Pradesh Govt. On reopening Of School

After calling the students of classes 9 to 12 for physical classes, the Uttar Pradesh government has now decided to reopen the schools for classes 1 to 8.
An order has been issued to open physical classes for students of classes 6-8 from September 23 and for Classes 1-5 Standard from September 1.

Assam Govt. On The Reopening Of School:
While the Assam government has not yet called for the reopening of schools, it has allowed colleges and universities to resume physical classes.
Detailed guidelines on how colleges and universities will function will be issued by August 31. The state government has allowed reopening of colleges and universities from the first week of September for students from higher secondary (Class 11 Standard) to postgraduate level.

Madhya Pradesh Govt. On Reopening Of Schools

Madhya Pradesh had earlier allowed students of classes 9 to 12 to attend schools and as per the latest announcement by C.M. Shivaraja Singha Chouhana, all government and private schools in Madhya Pradesh will reopen on September 1 for classes 6 to 12.
Shri Chouhana said that the school management and parents will have to ensure compliance of the CORONA-19 protocol. It will be mandatory for the students to bring consent from their parents.

Rajasthan Govt. On The Reopening Of School

The School Education Department of Rajasthan has clarified that there has been no discussion on reopening schools for classes other than 9 to 12.
Only 50 per cent students will be allowed to attend classes in each session to maintain the CORONA-19 protocol. According to a notification by the state government, schools in Rajasthan will reopen on September 1 for class 9 to Class 12 along with universities, colleges and coaching institutes.

Tamil Nadu Govt. On Reopening Of School

Tamil Nadu government has issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for reopening of schools. However, if there is no spare room available at the time of emergency, students will be asked to come to school alternately on alternate days. Online or distance learning will continue to be an alternative mode of teaching.

Schools will function six days a week and classes and classes will be divided into batches of no more than 20 students per class as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Students of class 9 to Class 12 will attend classes from September 1 with 50 per cent attendance.
