A consumer electronics and robotics company based in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, which has its research centre at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) IIT Gandhinagar Research Park, has been selected for the Stanford Seed Program for the current year. The name of the consumer electronics and robotics company is Havi.
A statement issued in this regard said – Every year only about 90 start-ups from around the world get a chance to be a part of this program by the Stanford Graduate School of Business (Stanford GSB), and Heavy is one of those few companies. There is one who has been selected from here. The only company shortlisted from India and Gujarat.
Havi is involved in manufacturing robotic toys and thrives with the aim of inspiring people to learn, create and perform at all ages of their lives, the statement said.
It designs useful, sustainable and fun technology products for people that help them learn and build robotics, IoT, electronics and other STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) projects. It has also created Heavy Code, a free code-learning platform, that facilitates learning coding and many other skills.
Global connectivity as a part of the Stanford Seed Program:
Heavy’s founders and management team will be supported in terms of one-on-one mentorship, strengthening strategic skills, building partnerships and gaining valuable local and global connections as part of the Stanford Seed Program, which is led by the world. Faculty of the renowned Stanford GSB.
It will be a five-month program that seeks to help selected start-ups transform into potentially scalable businesses and positively impact their communities.

The event is part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations of the Government of India to commemorate 75 years of independence. The program is funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST).
STEM Learning:
IIT Gandhinagar said, “The Institute has organized several interesting and practical activities for visiting school students with an aim to popularize STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) learning and motivate them to pursue careers in various fields of STEM, has arranged.
Around 205 students along with their teachers visited IITGN on the first day. Aastha Rawat, a class XII science student from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Gandhinagar said – I really enjoyed this visit to IITGN and various laboratories. We can personally see so many scientific demonstrations and learn so much.
