10th Result 2021 Qualifying Marks For Class X Should Be Distributed.

The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE 10th Result 2021 expected to be declared soon. While the official date is July 20, now there are speculations that the result may be delayed. The reason for this could be a recent letter sent by CBSE to affiliated schools asking them to “re-look” at the marks awarded to their students. The board has also decided to reopen the portal and asked the schools to moderate the marks awarded till this date till July 17, 2021 accordingly.

The board has indicated in its revised deadline for submission of tabulation process that the result will now be released by July 20, 2021. The board will release the result online on the official website cbseresults.nic.in and cbse.gov.in.

A) Main Objectives Of Class-10 Tabulation Policy:
1) To understand the principles of evaluation i.e. (reliability, fairness),
2) and validity during the process of evaluation,
3) and to take care of the variation in the evaluation process at the school level,
4) Standardize the scores across all schools through the process of moderation of marks.
B) The Assessment Procedures Used By An Individual School That:
1) Which was necessary in the interest of fairness,
2) To ensure that the allotted marks are comparable,
3) There is no adverse effect or undue advantage to any student due to the method.

Deserving Marks Should Be Distributed

To support the schools in the above-mentioned task of utmost importance, CBSE has given three years best performance including marks distribution and average marks for reference purpose.
Accordingly, the schools were expected to follow the reference distribution while awarding the marks. However, on data analysis after the schools upload the marks, it is observed that most of the schools have followed the reference distribution, some schools have not done so and have distributed the marks in upper brackets of the given reference category.
For example, instead of the distribution of theory marks in the 70-80 range, the marks are bunched in the 77-80 range.

Follow Tabulation Policy

It is really unfair to the deserving candidates whose performance will fall in this range of marks. Accordingly, such schools are directed to follow the tabulation policy both in letter and spirit, in terms of number of students at each level in the range of 96 to 100 marks, by awarding marks equivalent to the best historical performance (Principle + internal assessment).

Review The Highest Marks Given By The School

The cases of all the candidates who have secured 96 or more marks should be reviewed and amended in such a way that the number of students who have secured 96 or more marks in any subject this year does not exceed the number of students who are eligible for the Subject, as per the best historical performance of the last three years.
This means that, pointing out that it is not fair to students who actually pass 96 and above, schools are requested to rectify the error and moderate the marks accordingly.

Initiate Action Against Schools

All the defaulting schools which have not followed the policy in their true spirit and awarded marks to the students at higher level, may be given an opportunity to revisit the marks and redo the moderation as per the historical performance and reference range.
Also, some schools have still not uploaded the marks despite multiple extension of the last date. Such schools are also being given the last opportunity to upload the marks.
If it is found that the schools do not follow the instructions, CBSE will moderate the marks to bring the given marks as per the policy before preparing the result and also initiate action against the schools.
It is also informed that the changes made in the data by the schools will be recorded by CBSE. If it is found that the policy has not been followed, CBSE may initiate action against such schools as prescribed in the policy.

The portal will be opened from July 13, 2021 (12.00 PM) to July 17, 2021 (5.00 PM). In the meantime, the schools have to complete the work.
The above instructions should be strictly complied with within the stipulated time.
