Delhi University on Friday said that Benchmark Disability (PWBD) candidates appearing in the Common University Entrance Test will be given extra time during the examination. The exam will consist of four parts – Section IA (13 languages), Section IB (20 languages), Section II (27 domain specific subjects) and Section III (General examination).
He was speaking at a webinar organized by DU to make students aware of the provisions and policies of PWBD candidates. He said Common University Entrance Test (UG) -2022 will be held in computer-based test mode.
For Section III, which is a general examination, 60 minutes will be allotted for an ordinary candidate, but for PwBD candidates, an additional 20 minutes will be allotted, says Mrs. Gandhi.
Addressing a webinar, H. Gandhi, Dean PWBDs (i.e., persons with benchmark disability of 40 per cent or more) who have physical limitations in writing with speed, only informed to use the services. However, PWD candidates will be given an additional 15 minutes for each section. Similarly, for Section II, an additional 15 minutes will be given for each domain-specific subject.
For the first time in DU, admission will be through Common University Entrance Test. Until last year, Delhi University admitted students on the basis of cut-off marks in Class XII board examinations.
In the first shift, candidates will be able to write a language, two domain-specific papers and a general exam. In the second shift, candidates can enter the remaining four domain-specific topics and section 1B.
A candidate can appear in Common University Entrance Test for a maximum of six subjects, one of which must be a language subject. E-counselling will be provided by the university after the announcement of Common University Entrance Test results. Candidates will have the option to choose the college of their choice and will be given their college based on their number.
He also informed the students about the Common University Entrance Test registration process, provisions and enabling the required certificates and other aspects. Common University Entrance Test has been made compulsory for admission in all central universities from this year.
Ms. Gandhi further said that the National Testing Agency has extended the application deadline for registration of Common University Entrance Test 2022 till May 22, 2022.
