The Central Board of Secondary Education is conducting the board examinations for class-X and XII for the session 2024-25. The pattern of this exam has changed as this exam is based on objective type questions to be answered in Optical Mark Recognition (OMR).
CBSE is providing separate question papers in English and Hindi in almost all subjects in Term-I examinations. It has come to notice that some examination centres are printing both English and Hindi versions of question papers and then distributed to the students.
It is desired that only the English version of the first question paper be printed and supplied to the students. Hindi version question paper is printed only if a candidate requires Hindi version of the question paper. Similarly, where Hindi medium has been adopted by the candidates, the examination centres should first print the Hindi version of the question paper and make it available to the students. The question paper of the English version should be printed only if it is required by a student.
Evaluation of OMR is also done on the same day with the help of answer key provided by Central Board of Secondary Education-CBSE. Though every possible precaution is taken, but there is a possibility that there is some mistake in the question paper in the answer key or some answer is wrong. Central Board of Secondary Education has a well-organized system to address such issues. It has already been informed that if there is any observation regarding the question paper or answer key, it should be sent to CBSE after the examination is over.
Under no circumstances, it should be made public before the time of the end of the examination as it exposes the question paper. In case of any error in the question paper or any wrong answer, students can answer the question as per their wish. The evaluators can check or evaluate the OMRs as per the answer key provided to them.
As mentioned above, Central Board of Secondary Education – CBSE has a well-established mechanism to act on the comments received regarding mistakes in the question paper or answer key based on the recommendation of subject experts at the time of result preparation. It is requested that this information may be disseminated among the students appearing for the Session-I or TERM-1, examination.
