Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, Pradhan said it would be introduced on a pilot basis from the academic session 2024-25 in some AICTE affiliated institutions.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that technical education in eight regional languages will be offered in some institutions on a pilot basis from the academic year 2024-25.
Regional languages include Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada and Malayalam.
This means that engineering school students will have the opportunity to study their courses in their mother tongue. This initiative is part of the implementation of the National Policy on Education (NEP) 2020.
