Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that over 1010 government schools in the state will be replaced with modern facilities like smart classrooms, e-library cum reading rooms, modern science labs, clean toilets, safe drinking water and sports infrastructure.
Shri Patnaik said that 1,065 schools would be replaced with modern facilities in the first phase and described this move as the cornerstone of a progressive Odisha.
The Chief Minister on Saturday said that the decision to change schools will bring new opportunities for the children of the state and help them ful-fill their dreams.
Modern Facilities Like Smart Classroom:
Shri Patnaik dedicated 12 converted government schools to the state, which have all modern facilities like smart classrooms, e-library cum reading rooms, modern science labs, clean toilets, safe drinking water and sports infrastructure.
He inaugurated 12 such converted schools in his own assembly constituency Hinjili in Ganjam district on Saturday. Even in the private schools of the state capital, about 50 schools have been completely replaced with all the facilities which are not available even in private schools.
Patnaik inaugurated the schools from Bhubaneswar through virtual mode while ministers, MLAs and other office-bearers were present in the schools along with students, parents and local people.
The projects were taken up under the “5Ts” (Technology, Teamwork, Time, Transparency Leading to Transformation) initiative of the state government.
International-Standard Education In Delhi Board:
All government schools in Delhi will also be affiliated to DBSE soon. The Delhi Government has established the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) in Delhi. The board, which has been recognized at par with other education boards in the country, will start with 30 affiliated schools and 22 schools of excellence. DBSE is the only board in India which provides international level education to its students.
The Kejriwal government has approved the formation of DBSE with the objective of creating a continuous evaluation system for the students. Continuous assessment will be done by eliminating the need for a one-time examination conducted annually, a statement said. These annual examinations mostly involve rote-based learning and affect the overall learning and development of the students, the statement said.
Higher Education & Career:
Priority and recognition will be given to students studying from these schools with special aptitude and interest in specific areas of study including science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), humanities, performing and visual arts, and high 21st century skills. Higher education and career.
Students of DBSE affiliated schools having certificate issued by the board will be able to take admission in schools affiliated to other education board.
The 22 Schools of Specialized Excellence affiliated to DBSE seeks to impart special education as per the area of interest and aptitude of the student.
IB Is Operating In 158 Countries:
The Kejriwal government has also recently signed an agreement with the International Baccalaureate (IB). The IB operates in 158 countries and has 5,505 schools affiliated to it around the world.
With the DBSE and IB tie-up, Delhi government school students will have access to world-class education of the “highest standard”. A statement issued in this regard also said that a capacity building program of international standards will also be implemented for the professional development of school teachers of the Delhi government.
With India’s apex bodies accrediting DBSE along with other education boards including the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the certificates issued by Delhi’s own Board of Education will have the same recognition as the certificates issued by other boards in India.
