The Central Board of Secondary Education has also come forward to support the initiative and has issued instructions to all CBSE affiliated schools regarding formation of youth tourism clubs.
As part of the “AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV” celebrations, the Ministry of Tourism has set up youth tourism clubs. The youth tourism club seeks to nurture and develop young ambassadors of Indian tourism who will be aware of the potential of tourism in India, appreciate the cultural heritage and develop interest and passion for tourism, a statement said.

To facilitate the development of soft skills such as teamwork, management, leadership

These young ambassadors will act as a catalyst to promote tourism in India, the statement said. Participation in tourism clubs is also expected to encourage adoption of responsible tourism practices and concern for sustainable tourism, besides developing soft skills such as teamwork, management, leadership.

Youth Tourism Clubs being set up in various schools

Speaking on this, Union Tourism Minister G.K. Reddy said that the youth are the best ambassadors of India and its rich cultural, spiritual and natural heritage. Youth tourism clubs being set up in various schools will promote national integration and build upon the vision of the Prime Minister of “EK BHARAT SHRESHTHA BHARAT”.

On the other hand, as young tourists become ambassadors, India will become the world’s favourite tourist destination, which will have a huge impact on our economy.

The young members of these clubs will be exposed to the rich diversity of India and its civilizational values, which will enhance their feeling towards the nation, the statement said.

EBSB programs like excursions, online or e-tourism, natural resources and rich heritage of India

Handbook For Schools For Operation Of Tourism Clubs

The Ministry of Tourism has also shared the “BOOKLET FOR SCHOOLS FOR OPERATION OF TRUST CLUBS”. The handbook lays down the objectives, operational strategies with specific guidelines and suggestions for conducting various activities.

To spread awareness about skilled professionals and entrepreneurs

To spread awareness about the opportunities of exploration, adventure and sports tourism and tourism in the early stage and encourage the learners to become skilled professionals and entrepreneurs in the hospitality and tourism sector.

The Youth Tourism Club helps the learners to appreciate the importance of travel and tourism, ignite a passion for tourism and its value in the learners, sensitize the learners to the various elements of travel, encourage, teach and promote responsible tourism practices through the improvement of physical and mental health.
