Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday reviewed the online teaching and learning process in Delhi’s government schools amid frequent closures due to CORONA-19 & OMICRON. During his review meeting, the Deputy CM of Delhi was apprised of their access to course material and worksheets in two modes apart from the presence of students in online as well as offline classes by the Directorate of Education.
The frequent closure of schools during the pandemic has resulted in loss of education of the students. The health of the students is very important to us but it is also important that the education of the children does not stop,” Sisodia told DoE officials. During the meeting, he said, “The corona-led pandemic has posed new challenges for us, but Team Education is working diligently to ensure that every child has access to education during this time.”
Sending regular worksheets to students:
Delhi Education Director Himanshu Gupta said that the DoE is regularly sending worksheets to the students while online classes are being conducted for classes 9 to 12 at the school level. Children who do not have digital equipment to attend online classes, are being provided by the school with printed copies of the worksheets every week.
DoE sends worksheets every week to students from nursery to class 10 via WhatsApp, as well as projects, assignments and activity sheets for secondary classes during the winter break. We are emphasizing on assessment through innovative methods to understand students’ participation and learning levels, – said Gupta.
Haryana: Compulsory board exams for class 5, 8 students in all schools from 2022:
Haryana schools will have compulsory board exams for class 5 and 8 students from this year. The state cabinet on January 18 passed amendments to the Haryana Children’s Right to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2011. The cabinet has also added new rules in this, which will be effective immediately.
As per the new rules, in order to be promoted to the next class, students have to appear and pass the exam. If they fail, the exam authorities will give them another chance. Within a month of the exam, the competent authority will announce the results.
Haryana government added a section of board exams for class 5 and 8 students in the state. The Haryana Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Rules, 2022, authorizes Government and recognized private schools in the State to conduct regular examinations in classes V and VIII or any other agency having expertise in the conduct of such examinations. the wanted. , at the end of each academic year.
The decision was taken to monitor progress and conduct a standardized assessment of expected learning outcomes. The order covers all government and private schools in the state.
