The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Friday declared the result for class 10 students and scored the highest ever pass percentage of 99.95. An official said that this year no examination was conducted for the Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class 10) in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the marks were calculated on the basis of internal assessment of students’ performance.
“This year, the evaluation was done on the basis of internal assessment scores, which were sent to the board by the schools. While a total of 15,75,806 new students had registered, the board obtained marks of 15,75,752 students, of which 15,74,994 passed”.
The pass percentage is 99.95 percent, which is 4.65 percent more than the previous year.
At least 82,802 students who repeated the class registered for the assessment this year, and out of these 74,618 students have passed, which is 90.25 per cent, the official said, adding that 957 students scored 100 per cent in marks in the evaluation or the assessment have done.
According to the board, out of the nine divisions in the state, the Konkan division recorded 100 per cent pass percentage, while Nagpur recorded the lowest pass percentage of 99.84 per cent.
The pass percentage of girls was 99.96 percent, while 99.94 percent of boys and 97.84 percent of differently-abled students passed the assessment.

The board exams were cancelled this year in view of the COVID crisis and the Maharashtra SSC Result 2021 will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained by the student in class 9 exam and internal assessment of class 10.
After the declaration of class 10 results, the class 11 admission process is expected to begin in Maharashtra from today. Class 10 students can appear for the Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to class 11 or FYJC.
CET, though optional for students, will ensure uniformity and comparability in the admission process and also ensure fair play for students across all boards.
The CET will be conducted in the end of July or the first week of August after the situation arising out of COVID improves. According to School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad, Maharashtra CET will be conducted for a duration of two hours and the questions will be multiple choice for a total of 100 marks. Ms. Gaikwad said that the syllabus will be based on the Maharashtra Board SSC syllabus of class 10th.
Last year, the SSC results were declared on July 29 and the pass percentage was 95.30 per cent. Among the regions, Konkan region had recorded the highest pass percentage with 98.77 per cent and Aurangabad had the lowest pass percentage with 92 per cent.
