Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across the country have launched several undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs this year. In the present era courses have been started with the aim of meeting the industrial and social needs in the country. These courses seek to help in the development and innovation of new technologies and profession among the students.

M.Tech Program in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality at IIT Jodhpur:
IIT Jodhpur said in a statement – constitute an entirely new computing paradigm that is finding its way into applications for healthcare, education, defence, marketing, retail, engineering, gaming and entertainment, industry, and manufacturing.
IIT Jodhpur has started a new MTech program in Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) from the academic session 2022 to 2023. The MTech program in Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) will be conducted as a part-time online course for working professionals.
In addition, IIT and AIIMS Jodhpur collaborated to launch Master’s, Master-PhD and PhD programs in Medical Technologies (MedTech). The program is designed to meet the emerging needs of innovation in healthcare technologies.
The MedTech program aims to provide opportunities for medical professionals and engineers to learn and share knowledge under a trans-disciplinary academic umbrella.
IIT Hyderabad has launched a 12-month Certificate Program on “Future Wireless Communication” for the academic session 2022 to 2023. The course is divided into four modules with the option to exit after any module with a certificate.
The curriculum of the course comprises four modules – Data Handling and Hardware Programming, Signal Processing and Related Hardware, Communication Engineering and Standards, and hands-on training on 5G/6G projects.
IIT Guwahati has launched ‘Jyoti and Bhupat Mehta School of Sciences and Technology’ this year. The program aims to promote cutting-edge research in medical science, diagnostics, stem cells, public health, and health data analysis. The new school will offer MTech and PhD programs in Health Science and Technology. The first batch of 20 MTech students in Biomedical Science and Engineering stream will be admitted through GATE 2022.
IIT Madras said in a release that as part of the BSc level, students can undertake an 8-month apprenticeship or a project with companies or research institutes. IIT Madras recently announced that its Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Programming and Data Science will now have an option for a four-year BS degree in Data Science and Applications.
IIT Mandi has launched Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The program is different from other technology-oriented programs like BTech, MTech and MS. The objective of the program is to produce future ready business leaders armed with technical and management knowledge.
The MBA in Data Science and AI is open to undergraduate students of all backgrounds who have studied mathematics at a plus two level.
IIT Mandi has also launched MTech program in Electric Transportation. The students will get to learn both conceptual and practical knowledge related to the electric transport industry through this program. The first batch of the new two-year MTech program of IIT Mandi will start in August 2022.
This program is designed to offer students multiple entry and exit options where the learner can earn a certificate, diploma or degree. Students are not required to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) to take admission in this programme. Students who are currently in class 12 can apply and secure admission in the programme.
