Delhi Government is developing a new campus of Indira Gandhi Delhi Women’s Technical University at Narela. The campus is built on 49-50 acres of land and can accommodate around 25,010 students, – said Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. The Minister, who attended the fourth convocation of the institute, congratulated the students of the institute for getting good packages from renowned companies.
The Minister also emphasized on the research program which plays an important role in the development of any country. He said, – The university should increase its focus on research and the government will provide all possible support for it. He called upon the students to focus on research which can make the life of the common man easier.
University to provide quality and quantity education:
Sisodia lauded the university for playing an important role in the development of Delhi as well as the country. As an education minister, I always expected this university to provide quality and quantity education to its students and I am happy to say that this university has achieved both the goals. Now they should focus on quality research in collaboration with the government and various organizations.
Sisodia also stressed on increasing the seats in institutions like Indira Gandhi Delhi Women’s Technical University. The state government is giving all possible help to the university in increasing the seats, – he said. The minister said that the government gives 25-26 % annual budget for education and is working to provide quality education to every student in Delhi.
Honoured at the Convocation:
About 368 undergraduate, 131 postgraduate and 13 doctoral degrees were awarded at the convocation. Two Chancellor’s Gold Medals, Fourteen Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medals and Fourteen Silver Plaques were presented on the occasion to all the toppers of various courses for their exemplary performance, – the release said.
Sisodia said, – I am happy to see that the students of IGDTUW have got good packages from renowned companies. But we have to ensure that we have more and more job creators for the development of the country.
