The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) has introduced various new courses which will be offered from the academic year 2024-25. Courses range from technology to public policy and artificial intelligence to design. Some institutions have also decided to offer online programs in view of the pandemic. The newly introduced courses are not limited to college students only, but some programs for working professionals have also been started. Here’s all about the new courses.
As part of the newly established Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, IIT Roorkee will introduce two new Masters of Technology (MTech) programs in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science from the academic session 2024-25. To be able to apply candidates must have BE / BTech / Integrated MSc or equivalent degree in any engineering course.
IIT Delhi is launching a two-year Master of Public Policy (MPP) postgraduate program from the upcoming academic session 2022 with a focus on “Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) and Development. MBBS, BA LLB (Hons), Candidates with a bachelor’s degree such as BARC, BTech, BSc. (AG), BVSc, or equivalent and postgraduate degree such as MA, MSc, MPhil, Integrated MSc/MA, MTech or equivalent are eligible to apply.
The Robert Bosch Center for Data Science and AI (RBCDSAI) at IIT Madras has launched a 12-month Post Graduate (PG) level advanced program in Applied Data Science and Machine Intelligence. The program has been launched in partnership with Talent Sprint.
IIT Kanpur has launched four e-Master programs with an aim to enable a seamless distance learning process during the pandemic. The 4 e-Masters includes programs in Communication Systems, Cyber Security, Power Sector Regulation, Economics and Management, and Commodity Markets and Risk Management. The application process will take place in July and the programs will start in mid-August. The institute will soon release the details regarding eligibility, fee and admission on its official website.
The Center for Energy Studies (CES) at IIT Delhi will be converted into the Department of Energy Science and Engineering and new courses will be introduced as part of the expansion. In addition to continuing the three existing MTech programs currently being offered by the Center for Energy Studies (including one sponsored by the International Solar Alliance for Working Fellows from different countries), the new department is offering an undergraduate degree program i.e., BTech in Energy Engineering will do academic session 2024-25 with admission of 40 students who qualify JEE (Advanced).
IIT Hyderabad announced new seven online MTech programs and one online MDE program for working professionals starting August 2021. The seven online MTech programs include Industrial Metallurgy, EV Technology, Computational Mechanics, Integrated Computational Materials Engineering, Communications and Signal Processing (CSP), Power Electronics & Power Systems (PEPS), & Microelectronics & VLSI (ME & VLSI). An online MDS program for working professionals.
IIT Roorkee has set up a new Department of Design (DOD) which has started two new postgraduate programs – Masters in Design (Industrial Design) and Masters in Innovation Management (MIM) from the academic year 2024-25.
The Masters in Innovation Management (MIM) program develops students to be able to initiate, manage and successfully execute projects – skills that the global industry actively covets. The Masters in Design (Industrial Design) aims to expose students to the fundamentals of design and prototyping, design thinking, product-human interface, etc.
IIT Delhi will start a new Post Graduate (PG) program in Electric Mobility from the academic session 2024-25. The program will cover key aspects related to electric vehicles, drivetrains, charger and charging infrastructure, battery energy storage systems, battery management systems, reusability of energy storage elements. Candidates having 4 years Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and qualified GATE in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Production and Industrial Engineering (PI) subjects will be eligible to apply for the programme.
