The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi on Sunday conferred degrees to over 2,000 students at its 52nd convocation, along with distinguished alumni felicitated for their contributions in their respective fields. Padma Shri Warrior, alumnus of the prestigious IIT Delhi and Founder & CEO, was the Chief Guest at the Fable Convocation.

During his address, Padma Shri Warrior said that you will plan and build the future we live in. As technologists graduating from one of the top technology institutes in the world, you must ask yourself. What will you build and how will you take us into the future with the power of technology? Who have Problem-Solving Abilities, they can be Successful:
We all know that IIT’s syllabus is tough. It’s harsh (as professors like to say), but brutal (as students often call it). This brutal rigor taught me problem-solving from first principles — a great skill that engineers and technologists have,” said Warrior, adding that if one is confident of their problem-solving abilities, they can play any role in any industry. can be successful, which in turn boosts self-confidence.
Young People should also have Risk Appetite:
Former Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Chidambaram said that the youth graduating today should also have a risk appetite. Kapil Bharti, co-founder of logistics major Delhivery and Satish Kumar Singh, vice president, Modern Therapeutics, are among the distinguished alumni honoured at the convocation.
In the Entrepreneurship category, the Distinguished Alumnus Award winners are Kapil Bhartiya and Hitesha Oberoy (MD & CEO, Info Edge India Limited). Satish Singh is being awarded under the Corporate Leadership category. In the Teaching and Research category, Dipak Vashisht (Professor, University of Illinois) and D. Gupta (Microsoft Research India) received the Graduate of the Last Decade (Gold) award.
The award in the Entrepreneurship category was presented to Vidit Atre (Founder & CEO, Meesho) and Sanjeev Baranawala (Founder & CTO, Meesho). The Distinguished Alumnus Service Award (DASA) was presented to Sandeep Singhal, a 1992-1993 batch alumnus and MD, Westbridge Capital.
Yardi’s gift will enable IIT Delhi to build state-of-the-art laboratories and attract talented students and researchers to its newly established School of Artificial Intelligence.
Anant Yardi, chairman and founder of Yardi Systems and an IIT Delhi alumnus of 1968 batch, has agreed to give a gift of Rs 75 crore to IIT Delhi. Founded in 1982 by Anant, Yardi Systems is a leader in real estate property and property management solutions and the largest real estate software provider in North America.
The School of Artificial Intelligence was established by the Institute for the express purpose of expanding opportunities for fundamental, and inter-disciplinary research, innovation and postgraduate education in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning and Data Science technologies.
