In early July, the state government had allowed reopening of schools for class 12 standard, colleges and technical institutions in view of a significant drop in new coronavirus cases. Following a sharp drop in fresh COVID-19 cases in Gujarat, the state government last month allowed reopening of schools with 50 per cent seating capacity for students of classes 9 to 11.
All the SOPs announced in July for classes 9 to 11 will be applicable for classes 6 to 8 as well. All students, teachers and staff are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing. School management needs to keep sanitizers and hand wash in their premises.

The Gujarat government on Wednesday announced that schools for class 6 to Class 8 will reopen with 50 per cent capacity from September 2. To resume physical lectures for classes 6 to 8 in schools Decision taken by CM – V. Rupaani in the cabinet meeting.
The minister said that though the schools in the state have been allowed to resume classes from their premises, the ongoing system of online lessons for these classes will also continue. He said that at present about 33 lakh students are studying in class 6 to 8 in the state.
According to official data, 15 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Gujarat on Tuesday, taking the infection cases to 8,25,328, while the death toll remained unchanged at 10,085 as no death was reported during the day.
A month ago, schools were reopened in Haryana for class 9 to Class 12. Later, students from classes 6 to 8 were allowed to attend school. However, it has not made it mandatory for students to come to school as online classes are also on. Education Minister K. Pal on Wednesday said that the Haryana government has decided to reopen primary schools of classes IV and V from September 1.
He said in a statement that the students would be allowed to come to the school with the prior written permission of their parents.

According to reports, Telangana CM. K. Chandrashekar Rao has announced that schools, colleges and all institutions in the state will reopen from September 1 and ensure cleanliness and sanitisation of all educational institutions and hostels by August 30 in view of CORONA-19 as global pandemic.
Schools Open In Telangana:
KG to PG and public as well as private educational institutions will reopen on the instructions of the Chief Minister duly following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued to contain the spread of Coronavirus. Educational institutions have been closed for more than one and a half years. The lockdown and the school were closed in March 2020.
As the closure of schools and colleges was causing “MENTAL STRESS”, and also affecting the future of the students, Mr. Rao decided to reopen the schools with utmost care and caution.
As schools prepare to reopen in a week’s time, the Chief Minister has taken special care of cleaning the premises of educational institutions including classrooms and toilets.
Local reports say schools have been asked to sanitize everything with chemicals such as sodium chloride and bleaching powder. Local bodies need to ensure cleanliness of water tanks, cleanliness of entire schools.
The Telangana Govt. has announced the reopening of all educational institutions in the state, including Angana-wadi centres, from September 1.
