During the launch, the Education-Minister said – National Education Policy (NEP) is a philosophical document, not about data or numbers. Education is not about collecting degrees but building character and national through building knowledge. This is our understanding of the Indian knowledge system.

This booklet has actually been released by the Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Some major NEP 2020 initiatives have also been launched. The program was attended by senior officers of the department and heads of autonomous institutions and senior officials of the school education department of all the states and union territories.

In the last 75 years many have been hiding in files without good policies being implemented. But we are presenting a report card of sorts for the NEP – which we have done in the last one year – Mr Pradhan said.
The department has achieved 62 major milestones in this one year, which will transform the school education sector. This includes:
