The Delhi University Teachers’ Association on Thursday claimed that students seeking admission to an arts college through the university’s National Testing Agency portal were unable to register as it was not appearing in the list of colleges. He also said that the National Testing Agency (NTA) portal of the university should be updated at the earliest and the last date of registration should be extended accordingly.
In March last year, the government announced that the COA would be affiliated to Ambedkar University, as the college was facing various problems.
However, Vice Chancellor Singh ji clarified that COA is an affiliated college of Delhi University and admissions are done separately.
DUTA in its letter said, – Students who want to take admission in Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts found that the option of COA is not visible in the online portal for registration. Admissions to the COA could not take place during the last academic session as Delhi University and the Delhi government got into a tussle over affiliation.
DUTA demands that – students should be given the option to apply for admission in CoA and University NTA portal be updated at the earliest and the last date to register should be extended accordingly. It is also pertinent to mention that Delhi University did not give NOC for merging the CoA with Ambedkar University.
It is a college affiliated to DU. We don’t know why this demand is being raised now, – he said. In its letter, DUTA mentioned: – It is completely unacceptable to DUTA that a whole batch of generation are denied the opportunity of taking admission in one of the premier colleges of Delhi University.
Talking to the media, Singh said- Entry into the COA is free and separate. Since inception, admission to the COA takes place separately and independently.
