Delhi University on Monday announced to conduct the third, fifth and seventh semester examinations of all its undergraduate and postgraduate programs in open book format from November 30. The examinations to be conducted in OBE format (online mode) will also be conducted for required repeaters of I, III and V semesters and alumni of all undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
It is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that the required repeaters of the examinations for III/V/VII Semester/Term as well as I/III/V Semester and all Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) Programs include alumni. The examinations for students registered in the School of Open Learning (SOL) and Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) will start from 30 November 2021.
Last Date Sheet Likely to be Released by November:
The exam will be conducted in two sessions in a day, including Sundays, each with a duration of three hours. It added that the last date sheet is likely to be released by the first week of November. Students can write the examination in online mode at “place of their convenience” or from their Faculty/ College / Department as per the option opted by them in the Examination Form.
University also Issued Guidelines for Conducting the Exam:
The university also issued guidelines for conducting internal assessment, practical, oral, project, oral (moot court), apprenticeship, internship and field work for the academic session 2024-25, which need to be completed by December 14. For internal assessment, the varsity has directed colleges to do only internal assignments instead of the pre-existing three components which include class test, tutorial test and attendance.
The Student should Submit a Solved Assignment:
Internal assessment of students should also be done using IT tools. The teacher should give the assignments to the students in the prescribed format through email or class of goggle etc. The student should submit the solved assignment to the teacher through email in the stipulated time, the notice stated.
For practical exams for UG courses, teachers will give assignments to the student who will email or online submit the solved assignments in stipulated time. It added that viva voce and moot courts, wherever applicable, may be conducted through Skype or other online learning apps.
For internships and apprenticeships, the university said that students should be allowed to undertake online activities/ internships including activities that can be done digitally or otherwise, from home. They can be engaged as interns in ongoing projects. The start date may be delayed. The duration of internship can be reduced by combining it with assignments etc. – said.
The dissertations of UG and PG programs are to be assessed on the basis of written assignments. In the present scenario, suitable measures should be adopted to facilitate the UG/PG students pursuing the project/dissertation.
Accordingly review secondary data-based projects or software driven projects will be accepted by the faculty/ college / department to these students instead of laboratory based experiments or experiments or field/survey based assignments, the university said.
