Delhi University on Friday released the draft Undergraduate Curriculum Framework 2022 (UGCF-2022) prepared in accordance with the National Education Policy and sought feedback from stakeholders. The UGCF draft was criticized by a section of teachers, saying it was not discussed in the academic council meeting of the university.
The draft UGCF is being circulated among the stakeholders as well as placed on the website of the University with a view to elicit views from all the stakeholders with special reference to students, parents, academicians, recruiters, – it said.
The draft UGCF has been uploaded on the university’s website and a link for submission of feedback through Google Forms will be active till January 31, the university said in a statement.

The latest model carries less weightage
Ms. Habib said that the latest model reduces the weightage in terms of number of hours and hence, from six for Credit, Discipline Specific Core, Discipline Specific Elective and Generic Elective (as per the current 3-year LOCF or other models of FYUP) is devoted.

R. Chakraborty, an elected member of the DUTA executive, said the structure needed to be trashed along with the NEP.
The proposed UG program tries to implement a ‘one-size-fits-all’ policy on each and every course offered by the University irrespective of individual needs and customized requirements of various courses. This is not academically possible and compromises on the quality and rigor of various courses.
