Delhi School Reopening, Principals, School Associations Welcome Move,

Principals and school associations welcomed the DDMA’s move to allow schools to reopen for all classes from Monday after a 19-month-long shutdown, with some saying the decision was taken “at the right time”, while for others it was “delay”.

Disaster Authority (DDMA) Told Schools

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Wednesday decided that schools will reopen for all classes from November 1 with 50 per cent student strength, though classes will continue in hybrid mode and no student will be forced to appear offline.

Statements of Delhi State Public Schools Management Association:

1) Principal of MRG School, Rohini, the announcement comes “at the right time” as exams are near for all classes. “To a large extent, teaching personnel are now fully vaccinated except for a few with only the first dose. Since only 50-51 per cent of the student strength is allowed, management will become easier.
2) The Delhi State Public School Management Association, an umbrella body of private schools, welcomed the move, though they called it a “delayed decision”.
Though a delayed decision, it was much needed and we welcome the move. This decision will also benefit those students who have suffered due to the digital divide. Teachers will have to gear up to make up for the loss caused to the students in one-and-a-half years.

3) Delhi State Public School Management Association is protesting and petitioning the Chief Minister and LG to reopen the schools.
We look forward to welcoming our children to the school after a long gap. Mutual trust and cooperation between schools, parents, students and teachers will make the reopening safe and smooth. We are confident that schools will ensure the best possible safety protocols in schools.
4) We are hoping to make blended education the future of education in India. However, in order to implement the blended pedagogy system in real time, we need to have the students physically present in the classes for the initial time to lay the foundation so that mutual consent of both the students and the teachers can be taken. This is a welcome decision and we look forward to getting our students back on campus.

5) Given the fact that students need a nurturing classroom environment to learn and grow physically and mentally. We have improved the school infrastructure as per the guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and we are ready to welcome the students to the school.
6) However, we feel that schools need at least a few days to settle things – especially as Diwali and other festivals are around the corner. A collegium of stakeholders with an aim to promote quality education, the reopening of schools after a prolonged shutdown of almost one and a half years is a welcome step for all stakeholders.

Delhi Govt. Earlier the Reopening of Schools was Announced by

The Delhi government had earlier announced the reopening of schools, colleges and coaching institutes for class 9 to Class 12 from September 1 following a significant improvement in the CORONA-19 situation in the national capital. However, this is the first time that schools will reopen for all classes after the pandemic spread.

Students are Excited to be Back on the School Campus
Students are excited to be back on the school campus and interact personally with their peers and teachers. Their social, emotional and physical development, which had lagged behind during online learning, is slowly returning to normal with their active participation.

Delhi Government’s Big Step is the Decision

Teachers are happy to have students back in the classrooms and parents are happy to see their children return to the good learning experience in schools. This decision is a big step of Delhi government.
