The admission process is going to start from Monday in all the SOSEs. The students were invited to apply for SOSE through the online form on 12 August. The application process was closed till August 19.
A total of 2,795 students have been selected through this process and offered admission to STEM, humanities and high-end 21st century skills schools. Around 14,246 students took their exams on the given dates.
The qualifying tests for admission were conducted from August 27to 31 at 66 examination centres. Auditions for the performing and visual arts schools are underway and will end on September 13.
Final results for the performing and visual arts schools will be announced early next week. The admission process for the selected 2,795 students will start from September 13 at the respective SOSE where the students had applied. STEM schools are being admitted in classes 9 and 11, while in other schools, students will be admitted in class 9 only.
About 26,688 registrations were done for the four types of SoSEs (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Humanities, Performing and Visual Arts and 21st Century Higher Skills).
There are 5 schools each in Humanities and High-end 21st Century Skills with 421 and 601 students selected respectively. In 8 STEM schools, 961 students have been offered admission in class 9, while 815 students have been selected for class 11.
About 2/3 of the selected students are from government and government aided schools while the rest are from recognized private schools.
Mr. Sisodia said, that – in SoSEs, the role of teachers is going to change, and he will become a facilitator of learning for every student. Gradually, all the schools in Delhi will follow this model and adopt the learner centric education system.
DCM – M. Sisodia congratulated the parents of all the students who have been offered admission in SOSE. He interacted with all the school principals and teachers and called upon them to set a new bar of excellence for the entire country.
