Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday said the city government’s Business Blasters programme, which aims to inculcate an entrepreneurial mindset among students, will also be started in private schools from next year. He was speaking at the Business Blasters Investment Summit and Expo at Thyagaraj Stadium here, where more than 100 business ideas from government school students were presented to investors.
In view of its success, in the coming time, the Delhi Government will start this program in private schools of Delhi as well. He said a meeting would be held with private schools on March 7 to discuss how to go about it. The minister said that India cannot become a USD 5 trillion economy with the mindset of job seekers. He said that the program was successful because of the hard work of the children of government schools.
The minister said that the Delhi government is committed to provide better education to every child of Delhi and is fulfilling the dreams of BR Ambedkar through programs like Business Blasters in this direction. Sisodia met each and every team at the event and discussed with them how to run their business ideas in a better way. The Business Blasters program has boosted the confidence of lakhs of children in government schools in Delhi, which is the biggest achievement of the Kejriwal government, he said.
He appealed to the investors to invest in children’s start-ups and guide them. Any government can do such experiments only up to a certain level. It is the job of entrepreneurs to take it further from here, – he said. He said that out of these young business stars of today, tomorrow’s stars of Tata and Birla will emerge who will set up the world’s biggest companies 20 years from now. He said that the Business Blasters Investment Summit and Expo is the first of its kind for children in the country and the world.

Team ‘Lok Sewa’ has developed Alcohol Detector:
SBV’s team ‘Lok Sewa’ in Dwarka Sector-1 has developed an alcohol detector device that attaches to the steering wheel of cars and other vehicles. Team leader Varun said that this device has been designed with the help of computer programming and readily available hardware. It can be helpful in stopping addiction. The device shuts off the vehicle’s engine if the driver is intoxicated, the statement said.
They want to instil confidence in children with disabilities:
Team leader Tushar said that through this cycle, they want to instil confidence in the children with disabilities that they too can ride like other children. We have received an investment of Rs 3 lakh from an investor to develop 50 such cycles, – he said.
