Stating that the COVID-19 cases in Delhi have been controlled to a great extent, he said that during the special PTM most of the parents agreed that schools should be reopened. Because in the last one and a half years, the education of children has suffered a lot.
DOE & DDMA Allow Class 10 To 12 Students:
We have to bridge the learning deficit as well as cater to the mental and socio-emotional wellbeing of the children. The Directorate of Education (DoE) on Monday issued SOPs regarding the same.
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on August 8 allowed students of class 10 to 12 to attend schools from Monday for work related to admission and practical activities for board examinations and also said that health check-up camps will be held in school premises can start again.
Along with this they are also being trained on how to bridge the learning gap of children once the school opens and re-engage them with learning – said a senior Delhi government.
One of the school leaders suggested working towards re-engaging children in the first week of school so that they can engage with the teaching-learning process again. A principal said that a professional counsellor would be provided by the school for counselling the children if needed.
Class 10, 12 Admission, Practical Activities:
Students have been allowed to appear in the school for counselling or guidance and practical activities for board examinations.
According to the order issued by the Delhi government, students of class 10th and Class 12th in Delhi can go to school for admission related work.
The government had sought feedback from students, teachers and parents regarding the reopening of schools, given that the CORONA-19 situation in Delhi is under control. Earlier this week, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the Delhi government has received over 35,000 suggestions on the issue of reopening schools in the national capital.
