As per the announcement, CBSE stated that the Term-I exam will be conducted in the month of November-December 2021 and said that the exam will be an objective type test and the duration of this exam will be 90 minutes. CBSE further said in the notification that the Term-II examination will be conducted in the month of March-April 2022. It will be a subjective / objective type test as per the situation of CORONA-19 in the country, it added.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday announced the tentative dates for the term examinations for class 10 and class 12. The board issued a statement saying that the datesheet will be released on October 18.
40-45 Days are Required to Complete the Exam:
CBSE said in the notice that the examination of minor subjects will be scheduled first, followed by examination of major subjects. The board further said that if the examination of all subjects is conducted – as scheduled in the pre-pandemic period – a period of 40-45 days is required to complete the examination.
Therefore, in order to avoid loss of learning to the students, CBSE has decided that the subjects offered by CBSE will be divided into two parts – Minor Subjects and Major Subjects. Since the major subjects are offered by almost all the affiliated schools, the examinations for these subjects will be conducted by fixing the date sheet as before, – the circular stated.
For shorter subjects, CBSE said that it will group schools offering these subjects and thus more than one paper will be conducted in schools in a day by CBSE.
It is noteworthy that CBSE had said that the examinations will be conducted in offline mode. Giving more details, CBSE said that the exams for minor subjects will be scheduled first, followed by exams for major subjects. The date sheet for the examinations will be released on October 18.
Syllabus is Divided Equally for the two Exams:
This year, CBSE decided to conduct two term exams instead of a single board exam and the syllabus is divided equally for two exams, and marks obtained in both will be given equal weightage in the final marksheet.
CBSE has also Released a List of Guidelines for Schools during Exams:
CBSE said that the Skill Subjects exam will start w.e.f. 15/11/2021 & Major Subjects exam from 24/11/2021. Board stated that the encrypted question papers will be sent to the school/examination centre in the morning. The duration of the exam will be 90 minutes. CBSE stated that classroom teaching work for classes except 10 and 12 will be done between 08:00 am to 11:00 am or 11:30 am. Board said that the OMR sheet has to be submitted by 01:30 PM in the examination control room.
The evaluation will start from 01:30 PM to 05:00 PM. As per the protocol, the seating arrangement of class 12 students is to be made in one room. In examination centre 498-500 students are one invigilator, more than 498-500 students are two invigilators. As per the guidelines, the city coordinator will appoint the supervisors and change the supervisors periodically as per the requirement/request.
It Mandatory for 10 and 12 Students to Appear in TERM-1 Examination:
The board said that the answer key will be available by 01:30 PM and teachers of any subject can check the OMR sheet. CBSE made it mandatory for Class 10 and Class 12 students to appear in Term-1 examination and said that the marks of this examination will be considered by CBSE in the declaration of CBSE class 10 and 12 results in April or May.
