The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notice to schools asking them to be careful with class 11 marks as it is a component of CBSE class 12 result 2021. Notably, in the absence of class 12 board exams this year, students will be assessed on the basis of marks obtained in class 10, 11 and 12 (internal and practical).
However, many schools are not uploading class 11 marks in the “absence of reference year”, CBSE said in a recent notification. The board also said that the moderation of marks for both class 11 and 12 is done by the schools and not by CBSE, however, some schools are going with a “premonition that moderation of class 11 marks will be done by CBSE.”
CBSE clarified that the results committee will decide the moderation on the vision developed by the students based on the learning outcome of the students and issues related to them. Further, it asked the schools to upload the class 11 marks as per schedule as no extension will be allowed in the last date of uploading.

The decision of the Supreme Court is important for us and the class 12 results will come on time – said CBSE board.
CBSE said, “CBSE has to comply with the Supreme Court of India with regard to declaration of class 12 results by July 31. Please follow orders to upload class 11 marks immediately”. CBSE class 12 results expected by July 31.
The board had informed the Supreme Court that the class 12 result 2021 will be released by July 31, 2021. In view of the short deadline, the board had set up a comprehensive result tabulation portal for class 12. Meanwhile, CBSE has activated the link to upload class 12 marks on its comprehensive result table portal. Schools can upload the theory marks of the students on the portal till Monday 5th July. That means it is the deadline indication to upload the marks.
This year the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 was canceled in view of the pandemic. Instead, the board has prepared an evaluation criterion based on the performance of the students in class 10, 11 and 12.
While the practical marks obtained by the students will be taken as-is, the theory marks will be calculated on the basis of 30:30:40 division.
As per the policy, there will be 30% weightage on class 10 result, 30% on class 11 and 40% on the performance of students in class 12 internal examinations conducted by the school. The final result will be declared by the board. Students who are not satisfied will also be given the option to appear for the offline examination at a later date when it is safe to conduct the examination.
