The Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) will conduct the improvement examination from August 15 to September 15 for the students who are not satisfied with the marks awarded on the basis of internal assessment. The dates are tentative and depend on the COVID-19 conditions, said the board in an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court today.
The Supreme Court was hearing a case for cancellation of class 12 board exams for students who will appear for compartmental exams, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and repeaters. Apart from this, it was also decided that in regular mode an opportunity will be provided to the students who are not satisfied with the assessment and want to appear in the written test.

First Register Online For Written Test

Those who want to appear in the written test must first register online. The facility in this regard will be made available online on the official website of CBSE – cbse.nic.in.

CBSE has already asked the schools to start the counting process to prepare the results. The board has asked each school to constitute a five-member results committee under the chairmanship of the school principal. The committee will prepare and upload the result with the help of IT teams. A portal for uploading marks will be activated today.

Evaluation Plan Released Earlier

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) gave earlier the Class 12 evaluation model or final methodology through which it will conduct a survey of Class 12 students in the Supreme Court.

For evaluation, the board will give maximum weightage to the 12th examinations which include pre-board, unit test or mid-term. It will carry 80 marks and will be the criteria for theory assessment only.

The Class XII result will be based on the Class X section (30%) based on the best three performing subjects in the board examinations, the Class XI section (30%) will be set at the end of the year examination, and the Class 12-unit Part (40 percent) in the light of Test / Mid-term / Pre-Board.

For the practical exam, the board has allotted 20 marks to this section. In the subjects in which theory is for 70 marks, the practical marks will be changed accordingly. No merit list will be released this year.

Elective Examination Will Be Considered As The Final Score

In case of disputes regarding calculation of board result, it should be referred to a committee to be formed by the board, CBSE said. In the affidavit, CBSE said that the facility of online registration for the elective examination will be provided, although the marks of the elective examination will be considered as the final score. The results will be released by July 31.
