The University Grants Commission has said that applied mathematics offered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in class 11 and class 12 is a regular subject and can be used to calculate the total marks for undergraduate admissions other than “PURE SCIENCE” can be done.
The subject may be considered at the same level or standard as Mathematics. It said, – Applied Mathematics may be treated at par with Mathematics while computing the aggregate marks for admission to courses in Humanities and Commerce other than Pure Science.
