CAT 2021 Know the Test Format 10 Key Points

The Common Admission Test (CAT) will be held on Sunday, November 28. CAT is conducted as a national level entrance test for admission to Postgraduate Management Programs (MBA Programs) offered in management institutes in the country.

CAT 2021 will have Questions from three Sections

The question paper of CAT 2021 will have questions from three sections – Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension; Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning; and quantitative ability. As per the CAT exam format, computer mouse has to be used to answer questions in CAT 2021.

10 Important Points, CAT 2021 Test Format:

1) The medium of CAT 2021 exam will be English for all the candidates.
2) Some CAT 2021 questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with selectable options and some will be non-MCQs.
3) No marks will be awarded for questions not attempted in CAT 2021
4) As per the CAT 2020 exam format, there will be a deduction of one mark for each wrong answer in the MCQs. However, no marks will be deducted for wrong answers in non-MCQA.
5) A virtual keyboard will be displayed on the screen for answering non-MCQs. Management candidates taking CAT 2021 will have to use mouse and operate the virtual keyboard.
6) Use of external or physical calculator will not be permitted. However, a virtual calculator will be available to answer questions in CAT 2021.
7) PWD category candidates will be given an additional 13 minutes and 20 seconds for each section.
8) As per CAT Exam Format 2021, on completion of sectional timing, the timer will reach zero and the section will be locked.
9) While answering questions in CAT 2021 exam, applicants have to use the following options – Save & Next; Mark and Next for clear feedback and review.
10) Candidates will be required to sign an exception form in case any exceptional case is detected on the day of examination.

Do not use the Keyboard at any Time

The CAT 2021 administration body has released the exam day guide to ensure that the entrance exam is conducted smoothly. The two-hour CAT 2021 exam will be conducted in three sessions – AM, Afternoon and Evening. CAT exam (Common Entrance Test) is a computer-based selection test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as a prerequisite for admission to their business administration programmes. Remember that, do not use the keyboard at any time, as this will lock your computer system.
