Fundamental of Exercise 9.3 in Class 9 Maths
Before attempting grade 9 Exercise 9.3, students should first have their basics right. It means they should clearly know the meaning of fundamental terms like altitude, diagonal, median etc.
They should also know the meaning of such terms as isosceles triangle, equilateral triangle, rhombus etc. Not knowing these fundamental terms will lead to difficulties in understanding and solving the questions given in this exercise.
Important Questions of 9th Maths Exercise 9.3
In class 9 exercise 9.3, the following question are important. Question number 4, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 16. Almost all the question need application of geometry. It means that it is always better to draw the diagram first and then find out the solution to the question.
In some of the questions, you will have to make some construction as per requirement to arrive at the solution. There are only two examples 3 and 4. In this exercise both seem to be easy and very important for solving the exercise questions.
Main Theorems of Exercise 9.3 Class 9 Mathematics
Most of these questions are based on the property that triangles on the same base and between same parallels have equal area. The converse of this theorem/this property is also true. i.e. two triangles having the same base and equal area lie between the same parallels.
A fact generally noted in topics relating to geometry is that questions are asked mostly from the text book and students who have practised questions couple of times can answer board questions easily.
Way of solving the Exercise 9.3
Drawing the correct diagram as per the requirement of the question is a pre-requisite for answering the questions. It is generally suggested to repeatedly practice certain important question whose numbers have been provided in the above paragraphs.
Last but not least, the theorem which states that a median of a triangle divides the triangle into two parts having equal areas. The prof of this theorem is not difficult. In fact, proving theorems is an essential parts of the geometry subjects.
