How do you construct a quadrilateral with a compass?

Read through the following steps:
1. Place the compass on the vertex of the angle (point B). Draw an arc across each arm of the angle.
2. Place the compass on the point where one arc crosses an arm and draw an arc inside the angle. …
3. Use a ruler to join the vertex to the point where the arcs intersect (D).

What is the sum of all the four angles of a quadrilateral?

The sum of the interior angles of any quadrilateral is 360°. Consider the two examples below. You could draw many quadrilaterals such as these and carefully measure the four angles. You would find that for every quadrilateral, the sum of the interior angles will always be 360°.

Is triangle a quadrilateral or not?

Triangle is not a quadrilateral. It is not a quadrilateral because quadrilateral means the shapes having 4 sides or more than that.

To Construct a Quadrilateral when 3 Sides and 2 Include Angles are given:

Construct a quadrilateral ABCD in which AB = 3.6 cm, ∠ABC = 80°, BC = 4 cm, ∠BAD = 120° and AD = 5 cm.
Steps of construction:
Step 1. Draw AB = 3.6 cm
Step 2. Make ∠ABX = 80°
Step 3. With B as centre and radius equal to 4 cm, draw an arc, cutting BX at C
Step 4. Make ∠BAY = 1200
Step 5. With A as centre and 5 cm as radius, draw an arc, cutting AY at D
Step 6. Join CD
Then, ABCD is the required quadrilateral, drawn alongside.

Question:
Construct a quadrilateral ABCD in which AB = 3.5 cm, BC = 5 cm, CD = 4.6 cm, ∠B = 125° and ∠C = 600
Solution:
Steps of construction:
Step 1. Draw AB = 3.5 cm
Step 2. Make ∠ABX = 125°
Step 3. With B as centre and radius equal to 5 cm, draw an arc, cutting BX at C
Step 4. Make ∠BCY = 600
Step 5. With C as centre and 4.6 cm as radius, draw an arc, cutting CY at D
Step 6. Join CD and AD
Then, ABCD is the required quadrilateral.
