Examples:
1. Supriya sings well.
2. A boat sails on the river.
Supriya is the person, we are speaking about. Sings well what we are speaking about Supriya. A boat is the thing we are speaking about. Sails on the river. Is what we are speaking about the boat. The person or thing we speak about is called the subject. What we speak about the person or thing is called the predicates.

Note:
The action words ‘fly’, ‘rises’ and ‘shines’ are in the Predicate column. Doing words like ‘is’, ‘am’ and ‘are’ will also come in the Predicate column.
