About 12 Maths Exercise 5.5
This exercise is based on application of log on functions using properties. In Exercise 5.5 Question number 1, 3, 5 and 15 can be done directly using product rule, quotient rule and chain rule, but log properties make easier as compared to direct method.
Rest questions required logarithm to simplify and them solve by simple differentiation.
There is another method also to solve these questions. As we know that e^(log x) = x, so we can suppose the function (let function is x^log x) as the power of e [e^{log (x^log x)} using log properties. Now we can differentiate this function directly without any difficulty. This method is not given in NCERT, so use it for Entrance Exams.
