Introduction to 3D Geometry in 11th Maths
In previous classes, you have studied many 2 dimensional shapes in the Cartesian place. Straight line is another 2 D shape. In Class 11 Mathematics Chapter 9 straight lines we understand a balanced amalgamation of algebra and geometry. This is simply because you will find coordinates by solving the equation.
These coordinates will provide you instruction to form a line on Cartesian plane. You made several triangles and different shapes by joining all the coordinates. These shapes and construction are part of geometry. Out of which you have calculated the area of the covered region or uncovered region.
Contribution of the Rene Descartes
Previously, you must have studied the contribution of great mathematician Rene Descartes. After whose name today we call the Cartesian plane. In chapter 9 of class XI Maths introduction, you will learn that the great philosopher and mathematician published his study in the year 1637 in a book called La Geometry. His contribution towards the notion of the equation of curves and straight lines. Along with the various methods, mainly analytical methods in the study of geometry.
About Exercise 9.1 of Class 11 Maths
The combination of these methods resulted in the emergence of a new analysis and geometry called analytical geometry. You might be surprised to know the coordinate geometry that you have studied in high school which includes, plotting coordinate points, calculating the distance, different axes and quadrants, and section formulae. All are the basics of coordinate geometry. In the beginning of the NCERT exercise 9.1, you will read little something about it to recall the information that you learnt.
Questions of class 11 Maths Exercise 9.1
The revision of the previous concept is just small steps before you begin the study of newer concepts. The questions given in 11th textbook exercise 9.1 of 11th Maths are related with 4 examples and 14 questions. From the beginning of the concepts and definition, you will realize that there is a lot of the involvement in trigonometry here.
So, the students who had already sharpen their trigonometry blades wouldn’t face confusion. For other students, you try to keep the trigonometry concepts clear. Question number 1, 3, 4 of exercise 9.1 are some of the concepts that you already solved during high school education.
