NCERT Solutions for Class 11 Maths Chapter 6 Exercise 6.4

Class 11 Maths Exercise 6.4 deals with the explanation about the combination for the question to solve. The first explanation is important because there you will learn about the division and making groups of distinct objects. Here we learn that the permutation is just the number of arrangements whereas the combination is related to the selection of objects. Exercise 6.4 is based on the combination concepts containing 9 easy questions.

If you want to spot the difference and are confused about what is asked in the question, whether is permutation or combination? Remember if the question is being asked about the order then it is permutation question and if it is not then it combination question. Questions given in NCERT Exercise 6.4 are direct questions of combination. So it is easy to solve all the questions without any confusion.

Post completion of permutation you will conclude the fact that in permutation all the little details in the word, alphabets its position matter. This determines the result of the word whereas, combination is a much easy concept. Order doesn’t matter here. You can change the position and rearrange them but the result comes as same. However, theorem 6 is the smallest theorem in the chapter 6. Though it doesn’t have its own significant importance. It will be important while solving the 9 questions from 11th NCERT exercise 6.4.

The 9 questions of Exercise 6.4 does create any confusion about permutation or combination. The exercise is directly related to combination only. Comparison between permutation and combination along with the use of theorem is given in last exercise of Class 11 Maths chapter 6.

The question might look intimidating but once you understand the concepts it is pretty easy to do. All you have to do is to follow the steps to complete it as given in examples 17 and 19.
