Weather and Season

The weather does not remain the same. It changes from time to time. Some days are hot. Some days are cold. Some days are cool and windy. Weather affects what we wear, what we eat and what we do.

A Hot and Sunny Day

On a sunny day, the sun shines brightly. The weather is hot. We wear cotton clothes on a hot day. We like to eat and drink cold things. People use to go to hill stations on hot days. We also like to go for swimming on a hot day.

A Cold Day

The days and nights are cold in winters. Sometimes very cold winds blow. Sometimes it rains and we feel colder. We wear woolen clothes on a cold day. We like to eat and drink hot things. In winters snow also falls in the mountains.

A Rainy Day

On some days it rains a lot. It rains for many days. The sky is full of clouds. We cannot see the sun. We use umbrellas, raincoats and gum boots when it rains, Monsoon days are rainy and cool. Sometimes just after it rains, we see a rainbow up in the sky.

A Windy Day

Moving air is called wind. Some days, the wind blows very strongly. These are called windy days. A windy day is mostly cool. These winds sometimes become storms. The trees keep swaying, sometimes the trees fall. We should not go outdoors on a windy day.
